Rahlstedt, Residential quarter in Wandsbek, Germany.

Rahlstedt extends over 26.6 square kilometers in northeastern Hamburg, featuring residential areas, natural reserves, and commercial zones with a population of 95,743 residents.

The settlement originated in 1248 as Radoluestede, named after its Saxon founder Radolf, and merged with surrounding villages in 1927 before joining Hamburg in 1937.

The Old Rahlstedt Church from the 13th century contains a 17th-century altar and a 14th-century triumph cross, representing medieval religious architecture.

The district maintains multiple educational facilities, including Gymnasium Oldenfelde and Gymnasium Rahlstedt, while offering shopping areas along Schweriner Straße and Rahlstedter Bahnhofstraße.

The Rahlstedt Cemetery holds 19,000 graves, including the final resting place of 19th-century poet Detlev von Liliencron, commemorated by Liliencronstraße and Liliencronpark.
