Bodman-Ludwigshafen

Bodman-Ludwigshafen is a two-village municipality on Lake Constance's northern shore, where the settlements are linked by lakeside paths and natural green spaces. Vineyards and orchards surround the village centers, creating a mixed landscape of residential areas and agricultural land along the water.

The name Lake Constance comes directly from Bodman village, which appears in medieval documents as an important settlement on the shore. Archaeological finds show the area has been inhabited since prehistoric times, making it part of the region's longest human occupation.

Wine production has shaped the region for centuries, and local vineyards remain central to how people here live and identify their home. You can see this connection throughout the landscape, where grapevines cover the hillsides and define the character of the place.
