Burg Schwartzenburg

Burg Schwartzenburg is a medieval castle in Stolberg that rises from a steep limestone rock in the heart of the historic district. The structure features a three-story rectangular stone main building with characteristic medieval details and proportions.

The castle was founded in the 12th century by the Lords of Stalburg and has been part of the town's identity since then. After destruction in the 14th century, reconstruction in 1450 restored and reshaped the structure into the form it holds today.
