Friedhof Heerstraße, Garden monument and cemetery in Charlottenburg, Germany
Located at Trakehnerallee 1, this cemetery extends over 149,650 square meters and features a lake called Sausuhlensee within its forested grounds.
Established in 1924 and officially opened in 1939, the cemetery was designed by landscape architect Erwin Barth with a chapel created by Erich Blunck.
The cemetery remains open to people of all faiths, including Christians, Jews, and Muslims, while serving as the final resting place for numerous notable figures.
Visitors can access the cemetery through the main entrance at Heerstraße 141, with dedicated pathways leading to different sections of the grounds.
During the 1936 Olympics preparation, the cemetery underwent design modifications to keep it concealed from nearby sports fields due to its Jewish burial sections.
