Opening its doors in September 2002, the Pinakothek der Moderne stands as a successor to collections previously displayed at the Neue Pinakothek for artworks after 1900.
Four distinct museums merge under one roof, presenting paintings, sculptures, photographs, works on paper, architectural models, furniture pieces, and industrial design objects.
The museum welcomes visitors Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00, with extended hours until 20:00 on Thursdays, offering combined tickets for all four museum sections.
The museum houses over 20,000 works across 3,600 square meters, displaying 350 pieces from 150 artists through a thematic approach called MIX & MATCH.
