MVG Museum, Transport museum in Ramersdorf-Perlach, Germany.

The MVG Museum is housed in a large industrial hall and displays around 25 historical trams, buses, and work vehicles positioned on two tracks that run through the space. Beyond the vehicles themselves, the museum features vintage advertising posters from different decades, a subway simulator from the 1980s, and a model railroad exhibition.

The building was originally constructed in 1918 as a metal factory for wartime production and was later converted into Munich's main workshop for trams and buses. When the museum opened in 2007, the historic industrial structure gained a new purpose as a keeper of the city's transport history.

The collection reflects how public transport shaped daily life in Munich and connected different neighborhoods together. Visitors can see how ordinary people relied on these services to move through the city for work, school, and leisure.

The museum opens only two Sundays each month, so checking the exact dates in advance is important. The hall is easy to navigate and has plenty of space, though comfortable walking shoes are recommended since you will spend time moving around the exhibits.

The space functions not just as a museum but also as a venue for events and private gatherings, keeping the spirit of an active workshop alive. Visitors may occasionally witness some of the historical vehicles actually running during special demonstrations.
