PSD Bank Dome, Sports arena in Rath, Düsseldorf, Germany
The PSD Bank Dome is a multipurpose arena in Rath, a northern district of Düsseldorf, used for sporting events and concerts. The hall accommodates 13,400 spectators across several tiers and features an ice rink as well as a flexible stage.
The architectural firm RKW Rhode Kellermann Wawrowsky designed the hall, which opened on September 2, 2006. Since then it has replaced an older hall and provides modern comfort for major events in the region.
The stadium serves as home ground for the Düsseldorfer EG ice hockey club and draws fans regularly during the season. International musicians also perform here, with seating reconfigured depending on the event.
A parking structure with 1,500 spaces adjoins the hall directly and makes arrival by car easier. The A52 motorway lies nearby and allows quick access from all directions.
The roof of the hall contains a specialized system that allows the mounting of up to 90 tons (82 metric tons) of stage equipment. This enables organizers to prepare elaborate lighting and sound installations before the event and set up more quickly.
