Fahnenburg, 19th century forester's house in Rath, Germany.
The rectangular Fahnenburg building featured a central observation tower and decorative battlements positioned at each of its four corners.
Anton Fahne constructed this forester's residence in 1846 and later expanded it into a substantial villa with gallery spaces in 1856.
The Fahnenburg contained the largest private art collection in Düsseldorf during the 1800s, which was later sold at auction in 1932.
The building stood at coordinates 51.25053 latitude and 6.825979 longitude in the administrative district of Düsseldorf until its demolition.
Archaeological excavations during the construction of horse stables in 1849 revealed ancient urns beneath the property grounds.
