Museum mobile, Automobile museum in Ingolstadt, Germany.
Museum Mobile is an automobile museum in Ingolstadt housed in a striking glass structure that rises about 22 meters high. Inside, roughly 50 cars and 30 motorcycles are displayed across several levels, presented through a special rotating system.
The museum was created in 2000 as part of the Audi Forum and brings together the brand histories of DKW, Horch, Wanderer, and NSU. These manufacturers shaped the German vehicle industry of the 20th century.
The collection shows how automobiles and motorcycles changed in people's everyday lives and what role they played in industrial history. You see here how mobility shaped life in Germany.
The museum offers good accessibility with elevators and barrier-free access for wheelchair users and visitors with limited mobility. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes as you explore multiple levels and should plan adequate time for viewing.
A paternoster lift continuously moves 14 vehicles in vertical rotation through the building. As you move through the exhibition, you repeatedly see different cars passing by in this moving display system.
