Vorharz

Vorharz is an administrative district comprising seven municipalities east of Halberstadt in Saxony-Anhalt. The administration center in Wegeleben manages public services and local governance for the collective area.

The district was formed in 2010 through an administrative consolidation of several municipalities in the Harz region. This reorganization aimed to streamline local governance and resource management.

The district incorporates the municipalities of Ditfurt, Harsleben, Hedersleben, and Selke-Aue, each maintaining individual traditions while sharing administrative resources.

The administration office in Wegeleben provides public services for residents of all member municipalities. Visitors should check which services are available and how to reach the various villages in the district.

Three rivers run through the area - the Bode, Selke, and Holtemme - creating green valley landscapes that shape the character of the district. These waterways have influenced both the land and local settlement patterns over centuries.
