Basilica of St. Castor, Romanesque parish church at Deutsches Eck, Koblenz, Germany.

The Basilica of St. Castor stands where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet, featuring two five-story towers and a three-story rounded apse. Inside, medieval stone vaulting and architectural details from different periods shape the interior spaces.

The original building was constructed in the early 800s under Archbishop Hetto of Trier with support from Emperor Louis the Pious. The structure was modified several times over the centuries and now shows features from different periods.

The church is named after Saint Castor and has shaped community life in the city for centuries. Visitors come to pray or admire the interior stone vaults and religious artworks.

The building is open daily to visitors who wish to explore its Romanesque design and interior details. It helps to allow quiet time for observing the spaces, especially if you want to notice how different building styles come together.

Outside the building stands a monument bearing inscriptions from French and Russian commanders from the Napoleonic era. These marks tell of military events that shaped the city's history.
