Peter Joseph Lenné designed the park between 1856 and 1861 under Princess Augusta's commission, incorporating elements of English landscape gardens.
The park forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley, representing the integration of natural landscape with urban development.
Visitors can access various river cruise terminals within the park, connecting them to destinations throughout the Rhine valley region.
The northern section, named Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer, leads to the German Corner where the Rhine and Moselle rivers merge.
