Alte Tuchfabrik, Industrial monument in Euskirchen, Germany
Alte Tuchfabrik is a former textile factory in Euskirchen that combines original industrial architecture with modern offices, exhibition spaces, and business premises. The building has been extensively renovated and now houses various companies, artist studios, and event venues all under one roof.
The factory was built for textile manufacturing and operated with machinery from around 1900 until it closed in 1961 due to insufficient customer orders. Structural changes in the industry and declining demand led to the end of production.
The building now serves as a gathering place for local artists and designers who exhibit their work and run workshops here. The spaces are arranged to encourage creative work and exchange between different crafts people.
The location offers different functions: offices for businesses, exhibition spaces, and event rooms that you can visit. Plan enough time to explore the different areas and discover the various uses of the space.
The outside of the building is covered with 440 aluminum panels, each showing different patterns of yarn bundles that recall the textile heritage. This colorful cladding makes the industrial building instantly recognizable and visually tells the story of the factory.
