Mueller Cloth Mill, Industry and history museum in Euskirchen, Germany.
Mueller Cloth Mill is an industry and history museum in Euskirchen with fully operational textile machinery from 1900. The facility displays the complete cloth production process: from raw fiber to finished fabric, with preserved workspaces and authentic equipment throughout the building.
The facility began in 1801 as a paper mill, then shifted to wool processing before Ludwig Mueller converted it in 1894 for cloth production. This transformation reflects the economic changes of the 1800s, when the region repeatedly adapted its manufacturing focus.
The site honors Ludwig Mueller, the entrepreneur who led the factory during its main period. Visitors can see the workspaces where employees spent their days and understand how textile manufacturing shaped people and their communities.
The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from morning to evening and on weekends from late morning. Wear comfortable shoes, as there are many stairs and the machinery operates during guided tours.
Notably, carding machines, spinning mules, and weaving looms actually still function and are demonstrated live to visitors. This rare chance to watch historical textile equipment at work gives a direct sense of how loud, vibrating, and demanding daily factory life was.
