The Priory of St. Wigbert stands in Thuringia with a church, living quarters, and spaces dedicated to prayer and community gatherings.
Established in 1987, this monastery became the first Lutheran monastic institution recognized after the Protestant Reformation in Germany.
The monastery houses men from Lutheran, Roman Catholic, and Eastern Orthodox traditions who follow the Rule of Saint Benedict together.
Visitors can reach the monastery directly from the Unstrut cycling path and participate in four daily prayer services.
The monastery brothers contributed to rebuilding 29 different religious buildings across the region over a period of 27 years.
