Neureuth, Mountain summit in Bavaria, Germany

Neureuth is a mountain summit in the Bavarian Prealps reaching about 1,260 meters, with views over Lake Tegernsee and the surrounding alpine landscape. An inn sits at the summit and the peak lies between two lakes in a popular hiking area.

Traditional paths crossing this mountain once connected local communities living in the Tegernsee and Schliersee regions. Over time these passages became established hiking routes for the wider public.

The summit inn, the Neureuthhaus, has been owned by the town of Tegernsee since 1964 and is run by tenants as a Berggasthof. The building was begun on 14 May 1895 and opened on 18 August of the same year, and it still serves hikers on the summit.

The main hiking route takes just over two hours with an elevation gain of about 500 meters (1,640 feet). Weather at this elevation can change quickly, so appropriate clothing matters.

The peak stays accessible during winter months without needing specialized gear, making it open for outdoor activities year-round. This all-season appeal draws people seeking nature in any season.
