New Town Hall, Town hall in Mitte district, Hannover, Germany

The New Town Hall features a 97.73-meter-high central dome tower with four small towers and exhibits eclectic architecture with neo-Gothic and neo-Renaissance elements.

Construction of the administrative building commenced in 1901 and required 3,000 wooden pilings as a foundation due to marshy ground conditions.

The building includes lavish state rooms decorated with numerous ornate sculptures, paintings, and furnishings that represent Northern German craftsmanship.

The tower contains a curved elevator that moves diagonally at a 17-degree angle, taking visitors to an observation platform at 93.5 meters.

The central dome houses the largest mechanical carillon in Lower Saxony, which plays melodies four times daily using 30 bronze bells.
