Tholey

Tholey is a municipality in the Sankt Wendel district of Saarland, located roughly 30 kilometers north of Saarbrücken. The area spreads across gentle terrain with forests and small settlements nestled into the natural landscape.

This settlement traces back to 610 when Saint Wendelin established a Benedictine monastery that became central to its growth. Over the centuries, the monastery remained a key anchor for the community and its organization.
