Frohnau

Frohnau is a garden district in Reinickendorf featuring spacious residential properties, tree-lined avenues, and extensive green spaces distributed throughout the area. Two central squares are connected by generous boulevards and shape the open, quiet appearance of this settlement.

The district was established between 1908 and 1910 by Berlin Terrain-Centrale as a garden city following modern planning principles. This development was part of a movement to create new residential areas with more greenery and space, distinct from the crowded inner city.

The Buddhist House shapes the neighborhood with its distinctive elephant reliefs at the entrances and draws visitors from across the region. The place is used by practitioners for meditation and spiritual gatherings, showing how diverse community life is here.

The S-Bahn station connects the district directly to central Berlin, making daily trips straightforward. On the ground, schools, shops, and numerous green areas invite walking and relaxing.

The Casino Tower on Ludolfinger Square was originally built in 1910 as a water tower and serves as the district's main landmark today. The structure stands about 34 meters tall and shows how utility buildings were integrated into the streetscape back then.
