Dampfkleinbahn Bad Orb is a narrow-gauge heritage railway operating between Wächtersbach and Bad Orb with traditional steam locomotives on 600-millimeter gauge tracks. The line passes through varied landscapes and offers rides in authentic historical railway carriages.

The Bad Orber Kleinbahn AG, founded in 1900, opened the standard-gauge line from Wächtersbach to Bad Orb on 23 May 1901, connecting the Frankfurt–Göttingen railway with the spa town. The Main-Kinzig district ended service on 4 March 1995; volunteers regauged the track to 600 mm, and a first section reopened on 26 May 2001, with the full line following on 29 October 2006.

The railway is maintained and operated by dedicated volunteers who keep the historic locomotives running and share their knowledge with passengers. This commitment has helped preserve traditional railway practices for visitors to experience today.

The journey takes about one hour and moves at a gentle pace, allowing time to observe the landscape and railway machinery. Comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes are helpful, especially if you want to view the locomotives up close.

Around 1903 the company had a saloon coach built by Henschel & Sohn in Kassel, but it was so little used that it was sold to the Krefelder Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft in 1906. From 1959 the line ran with a push-pull set of two coaches and a MaK 240 C diesel; the set is kept at the Darmstadt-Kranichstein railway museum.
