Molkenberg

Molkenberg is a forested summit near Bad Orb standing at roughly 293 meters in elevation. The mountain is covered in dense woodland and crossed by hiking trails that wind through the Spessart landscape.

The mountain contains remnants of medieval defensive structures, including a watchtower roughly 9 meters tall. This tower served as a lookout post during the Thirty Years' War period.

Local hiking groups maintain traditional trail markers and organize regular guided walks to share knowledge about the mountain's geological and natural features.

Multiple marked trails lead to the summit, with the main trailhead located near Bad Orb's Kurpark. The paths are clearly signed and suitable for various hiking abilities.

The observation tower at the peak offers views across three different geographical regions from a single vantage point. On clear days, visitors can distinguish the distinct landscape zones of Bad Orb, Spessart, and the Vogelsberg mountains.
