Tholey Abbey, Benedictine abbey in Tholey, Germany.
The abbey includes a three-nave early Gothic church from the 13th century with a rectangular choir and stone foundations from the Frankish period.
First documented in 634 through the testament of Adalgisel Grimo, a Frankish nobleman who transferred his property in Tholey to the Diocese of Verdun.
The monastery maintains the Benedictine traditions through daily prayers, work activities, and regular religious services following Saint Benedict's principles.
The abbey offers guided tours of the church, accommodations in the guesthouse, and opportunities to participate in meditation sessions with the resident monks.
The bell tower contains seven bronze bells, including two medieval ones cast by Wilhelm Czun in 1458 and 1459.
