Stift Herzebrock, Benedictine monastery in Herzebrock-Clarholz, Germany
The Stift Herzebrock complex contains multiple stone buildings with architectural elements spanning several centuries of religious construction in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Founded as a canonical monastery, Stift Herzebrock transformed into a Benedictine convent through the medieval period until its secularization in 1803.
The monastery buildings now house a Local History Museum that presents exhibits about monastic life and regional traditions from the Middle Ages.
The religious complex operates regular church services on Sundays at 10:30 AM and holds additional gatherings for prayer meetings on Tuesday evenings.
The monastery maintains its original 12th-century church towers, which survived multiple relocations of the building complex following fires throughout its history.
