Faßberg Air Base, Military airfield in Faßberg, Germany

The airfield spans 574 hectares with a 2,440-meter asphalt runway and two additional grass runways for military aviation operations.

The German Air Ministry ordered construction of the air base in 1933, which opened in 1934 as one of four bomber training schools.

The British forces renamed it RAF Fassberg after World War II and utilized it as a central point during the Berlin Airlift operations.

Transport Helicopter Regiment 10 operates NH90 helicopters from the base for military transport, supply missions, and emergency response operations.

The air base maintains Class D airspace control from ground level to 2,500 feet, managing both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter traffic patterns.
