Wildpark Müden, Wildlife park in Faßberg, Germany
Wildpark Müden is a wildlife park in the Lüneburg Heath region of Lower Saxony that spreads across about 10 hectares of land with streams and man-made water features. The grounds display around 200 animals from about 30 species, all native to the German region.
The park was founded in 2012 as a project of the company Wild- und Abenteuer GmbH. Operations were later taken over by Thomas Wamser, who has continued to develop the facility.
The park focuses on native animal species and shows visitors how to observe wildlife in settings that resemble their natural habitats. The enclosures are designed so animals display their natural behaviors and give visitors an authentic view of how these creatures live.
The park is open daily and visitors can walk through the grounds freely during regular hours. It is helpful to wear comfortable shoes since the area is explored on foot and paths wind through natural terrain.
The grounds use natural waterways that are integrated directly into the animal enclosures, allowing visitors to see deer and wild boars in settings closer to their natural environments. This design sets the park apart from traditional zoos with concrete pens.
