Bavarian Public Observatory Munich, Public observatory in Berg am Laim district, Munich, Germany.

The Bavarian Public Observatory features a 300-square-meter observation platform with four telescopes for viewing distant galaxies and celestial objects from 539 meters elevation.

The observatory was established in 1946 as an astronomical club and officially welcomed the public in 1994, growing into a significant institution in Munich.

The facility maintains a planetarium with 32 seats, where visitors learn about constellations through detailed projections of the night sky using Zeiss technology.

Evening tours start at 8 PM from September to March and 9 PM from April to August, with adult tickets priced at 10 euros and discounts through Munich City Pass.

Located 35 meters above ground on a former bunker rooftop, the observatory attracts 25,000 visitors annually to more than 500 public astronomical presentations.
