Stadtpark und Botanischer Garten Gütersloh is an expansive green space with curving paths, open lawns, and varied tree groups throughout the site. The botanical section features geometrically designed pools, hornbeam hedges, and specialized planting areas including herb gardens and an orchard with historic fruit varieties.

Friedrich Wilhelm Schoedder designed the municipal park between 1906 and 1909 as a green oasis for the expanding city. Karl Rogge added the botanical garden in 1912 to the northeastern section, establishing the layout that visitors see today.

The rose garden displays a diverse collection of roses that invites visitors to linger among the blooms. The plantings create a space where you can experience the beauty of these flowers across different seasons.

The grounds are free to access daily and include a café in a restored palm house and a mini golf course for recreation. The paths are clearly marked, making navigation straightforward for visitors of all ages.

The Eiswiese meadow transforms into a natural ice skating rink during winter when conditions permit, continuing a tradition dating to the early 1900s. This seasonal shift of the water feature creates a special gathering place for visitors during colder months.
