Stadtpark und Botanischer Garten Gütersloh

The park spans 15.5 hectares, featuring curving paths, expansive lawns, and diverse tree groups, while the botanical garden occupies 3 hectares with geometric pools and hornbeam hedges.

Friedrich Wilhelm Schoedder designed the municipal park between 1906 and 1909, followed by Karl Rogge's addition of the botanical garden in 1912 to the northeastern section.

The grounds include specialized areas such as a rose garden from 1941, a sculpture garden from 2000, and an orchard preserving regional fruit varieties like Westfälischer Gülderling.

Visitors can access the park daily without entrance fees, with facilities including a café housed in a restored palm house and a mini golf course established in 1960.

The Eiswiese meadow transforms into a natural ice skating rink during winter months, continuing a tradition that began in the early twentieth century.
