Schloss Ringberg, Heritage castle in Kreuth, Germany.
Schloss Ringberg is a stone castle on a hillside in Kreuth, located south of Munich, with views toward the Tegernsee lake and Bavarian Alps. The estate houses event spaces and guest rooms today, but is not open for regular tourist visits.
Construction began in 1913 under Duke Luitpold Emanuel with architect Friedrich Attenhuber. Building work extended over several decades and created a manor that merged Bavaria's artistic past and future.
The castle displays a mixture of different building styles, ranging from historical forms to Art Deco. Those passing by outside can recognize this artistic variety in the facade and roof shapes.
The castle is operated today by the Max Planck Society as a conference center and is not accessible to individual visitors. Those wishing to admire the exterior can catch glimpses of it from hiking trails in the surrounding area.
Architect Friedrich Attenhuber moved into the castle permanently in 1930 and spent decades perfecting the interior design. His artistic hand shaped the indoor spaces in ways visible only to invited guests.
