Bleibtreusee, Artificial lake in Rhein-Erft-Kreis, Germany.
Bleibtreusee is an artificial lake in the Brühl-Hürth area covering about 74 hectares of water. The lake has designated zones for swimming, diving, water skiing, and windsurfing, each with its own facilities and spaces.
The lake came into being in 1973 when a former lignite mining pit was filled with water. This transformation turned a worked industrial site into a space for recreation and water activities.
Water sports clubs gather here regularly, bringing together people who share a passion for activities on the water. The lake serves as a social hub where swimmers, divers, and windsurfers connect through organized events and friendly competition.
The lake is accessible from both Brühl and Hürth, with parking areas available and public bus connections via lines 979 and 990. The different zones are clearly marked, making it easy for visitors to find where they want to go.
The northern shore has a sandy beach with a large lawn for sunbathing and the Sonnendeck beach bar offering food and drinks. This combination makes the northern area a popular spot for a relaxed day by the water.
