Description
Feierabendhaus Knapsack is a multipurpose hall within the Chemiepark Knapsack featuring an oval floor plan measuring about 45 by 37 meters. The main hall spans approximately 700 square meters with a stage of about 140 square meters and can accommodate up to 1,300 seated guests or 1,700 standing attendees.
History
The building opened in 1957 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Knapsack chemical site. Architect Karl Hell designed it after winning a competition, creating a landmark for the industrial community's leisure activities.
Culture
The hall serves as a gathering space where concerts, theater productions, and art shows bring together visitors throughout the year. It functions as the cultural heart of the Chemiepark, hosting performances that reflect the site's commitment to enriching community life beyond industrial work.
