Blombachtalbrücke, Concrete arch bridge in Wuppertal, Germany.

The Blombachtalbrücke spans 296 meters across the Blombach Valley, reaching a height of 50 meters with its main span extending 150 meters.

Designed by engineer Hellmut Homberg, the bridge opened on October 15, 1959, and held the record for Germany's longest reinforced concrete arch bridge.

The bridge construction workers created a protest display with a straw figure due to the absence of a traditional topping-out ceremony.

The structure carries Landesstraße 419 over both the A1 Autobahn and the Wuppertal-Oberbarmen-Opladen railway line, connecting elevated areas of Wuppertal.

The bridge features a three-cell hollow box made of reinforced concrete that forms its main arch and supporting framework.
