Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul, Reichenau

The Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul is a Romanesque church on Reichenau Island with a single nave, one apse, and a northern aisle. The building stands out for its simple stone architecture and the ornamental reliefs that adorn the walls.

A bishop named Egino of Verona founded the original church in 799. After two devastating fires destroyed the earlier structure, it was rebuilt in 1080 and received its current Romanesque form.
