The complex began taking shape in 1704 as part of Duke Eberhard Louis of Württemberg's grand palace estate plans. It underwent major restoration work in the 1950s to repair damage accumulated over centuries.
The gardens connect to fairy tale performances that blend German folklore with baroque garden design. Visitors can encounter different theatrical scenes as they stroll through the space, bringing the stories to life.
The park is open to visitors from March through November and offers pathways suited to different walking levels. Families can explore at their own pace, and there are seating areas throughout where you can rest.
Every autumn, the park displays Europe's largest pumpkin collection, with hundreds of thousands arranged into artistic shapes and sculptures. This seasonal event transforms the grounds into a striking temporary landscape.
