Steintanz von Boitin, Stone circle in Tarnow, Germany

The Stone Dance of Boitin consists of multiple stone circles located within a forest setting near the village. Three of the circles stand close together, while the fourth rests approximately 200 meters (656 feet) away from the main group.

The stones were constructed during the Bronze Age, roughly 3,200 years ago as part of a prehistoric site. The location was first recorded in written documentation during 1765.

The stones carry a name tied to an old wedding celebration, showing how the local community has long connected this place to its folklore. Visitors can see how the arrangement and shape of the stones have inspired storytelling across generations.

A marked trail guides visitors through the forest to the stone circles, making navigation straightforward. The site is most enjoyable during warmer months when forest paths are dry and easy to walk on.

The primary stone features thirteen square indentations on its inner surface, with eleven of them clearly visible and possibly used for timekeeping. This hole arrangement is distinctive and suggests the structure served astronomical or calendar purposes.
