Burg Fürstenstein, Medieval castle in Albungen, Germany.

The Gothic stone residential tower of Burg Fürstenstein measures 13 by 8 meters with three sandstone floors and an upper timber-framed level.

The Counts of Bilstein constructed Burg Fürstenstein before 1264, and sold their feudal rights to Landgraf Heinrich I of Hesse in 1301.

The castle incorporates a late Gothic chapel from 1600 within its residential tower, reflecting the religious architectural elements of medieval German fortifications.

Located at 205 meters above sea level near Eschwege, the castle remains under private ownership and does not permit public access.

The Diede family maintained control of Burg Fürstenstein from 1344 until 1807, when King Jérôme of Westphalia transferred it to Pierre Alexandre le Camus.
