Burgstall Regenstauf

Burgstall Regenstauf is a medieval castle in Bavaria with preserved foundation remains and wall structures of a fortified complex on elevated terrain. The site shows evidence of residential chambers and defensive walls that have been documented through archaeological study.

The Lords of Heresing built this fortress in the 12th century, with Rudigerus de Heresingni first documented around 1134. The castle served the local nobility for centuries as a way to secure their control over the valley.
