Burgstall Edelburg

Burgstall Edelburg is the remains of a medieval castle situated on the western edge of Gärtringen Valley, showing foundation walls and fortification elements. The ruin displays a complex layout with several distinct areas still visible.

The castle originated in the medieval period as a defensive installation that shaped the strategic importance of the area for centuries. It was eventually abandoned and survives today only as ruins.

The site bears the name Edelburg and is maintained as a monument showing how medieval structures were built in this area. Visitors can observe the layout and understand how such fortifications fit into the local landscape.

The ruins lie roughly 2.5 kilometers northwest of Gärtringen and can be located with navigation tools. The site is accessible on foot or by car, though visitors should note it remains an open archaeological site.
