The museum building received heritage monument status, preserving the architectural elements from the period when Nobel Prize laureate Gerhart Hauptmann lived there.
The exhibitions present the evolution of German drama through Hauptmann's works, including original manuscripts, letters, and photographs from the late 19th century.
The museum opens daily from November to April between 11:00 and 16:00, while from May through October, visiting hours extend from 12:00 to 17:00.
The collection contains 30,000 artifacts related to Hauptmann's life, including partial estates from Johannes Maximilian Avenarius and Charlotte Elfriede Pauly.
