The museum occupies a timber-framed house from 1804, featuring traditional furnishings and agricultural tools from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Following a destructive fire in 1804, the original thatched cottage from 1700 was rebuilt and later transformed into a museum by Edith and Werner Hauschildt in 1961.
The collection exhibits regional household items, farming equipment, and beekeeping tools that represent daily life in the Aukrug municipality between 1750 and 1850.
Visitors can explore the museum during weekends and public holidays from 14:00 to 18:00, with admission prices of 2 euros for adults and 1 euro for children.
The museum serves fresh waffles with red fruit jelly in its café while allowing guests to discover authentic rural living spaces from centuries past.
