Dorfkirche Reinickendorf, Village church in Reinickendorf, Germany.
Dorfkirche Reinickendorf is a medieval church with bare fieldstone walls in northern Berlin. A square western tower of brick stands out as the building's main architectural feature and gives it its distinctive shape.
The building was constructed in 1488 from fieldstone for the local community. The distinctive tower was added over 200 years later in 1713, and received a bronze bell cast in 1491.
The church serves the local Lutheran community as a place for worship and gatherings in the district. It has been a religious center for the neighborhood since medieval times.
The church is located near Paracelsus-Bad subway station and is accessible for wheelchair users. Inside, an organ installed in 1970 is part of the building's interior and plays during services.
Three preserved iron grave crosses from the former cemetery tell stories of people who lived in this area centuries ago. The crosses bear names and documents of lives spanning from medieval to modern times.
