OP-Bunker Teichstraße

The OP-Bunker Teichstraße is a reinforced building within the Humboldtkrankenhaus complex designed to protect surgical operations even during bombing. The walls are extremely thick and the interior was specifically arranged for emergency medical care.

German authorities built this bunker in 1941 to shield medical facilities from air raids. The structure was intended to ensure that surgeons could continue their work even under the most difficult conditions.

The structure shows how architecture and medicine came together to protect patients during dangerous times. The building reflects the belief that vital services needed to continue even under extreme circumstances.

The bunker is located on the Humboldtkrankenhaus grounds in northern Berlin and can be viewed from the outside. To study the architecture properly, take time to examine the exterior facade and notice the distinctive heavy construction style.
