Schloss Ummendorf

Schloss Ummendorf is a three-story Renaissance castle with two round towers on its western side and a direct road connecting it to the nearby church. The building displays typical architecture of its era with a rectangular foundation and distinctive defensive towers.

A wealthy merchant from Augsburg acquired the Ummendorf estate in 1554 and commissioned the castle's construction starting in 1557. The building shaped the area's development for generations.

The place served as a center of learning and faith for the surrounding area. The connection to the nearby church shows how closely spiritual and everyday life were intertwined here.

The princely hall and garden meadow are available for private celebrations, company events, and civil wedding ceremonies. Visitors should check which areas are freely accessible and when events are scheduled.

Inside the castle are baroque wall paintings created by a renowned local artist. The ceiling decorations showcase the artistic furnishings the building has retained through the centuries.
