Frohburger Dreieck, tor wyścigowy (Niemcy)
The Frohburger Dreieck is a motorsport racing circuit in Frohburg, Saxony, built on public roads that run between Leipzig and Chemnitz. The course is used for both motorcycle and car races and is only closed to normal traffic during scheduled events.
The circuit first opened in 1960 and quickly became a key venue for motorcycle and car racing during the East German period. After reunification, it welcomed international competitors and has continued to host races ever since.
The name 'Dreieck' means triangle and refers directly to the shape of the route through the town's streets. On race days, fans often watch from the roadside with almost no barrier between them and the passing vehicles.
On race days, arriving early helps you find a good spot along the roadside before the crowds build up. Event dates and access details are best checked through the local motorsport club or the ADAC website ahead of your visit.
The Frohburger Dreieck is one of the few remaining street races in Germany where the course runs entirely on ordinary public roads open to everyday traffic outside of events. Visitors who come on a non-race day will find nothing more than a quiet stretch of rural road with no visible sign of any circuit.
