Eistobel

Eistobel is a nature reserve featuring high rock walls and a river that cuts deeply into the landscape. The rock formations show different layers and structures carved out by the power of flowing water.

The area was recognized as a protected reserve in 1970 to safeguard the rock formations and the variety of plants and animals. This decision helped preserve the landscape for future generations.

Access is through a walking path that leads from Kulmusbrunnen to the Argentobel information pavilion. The area is navigable on foot, but visitors should wear sturdy shoes and allow time for exploration.

Water continuously shapes spiral holes and hollows in the rock layers, creating patterns that look hand-carved. These forms reveal how nature reshapes stone over thousands of years.
