Kloster Hohenholte, Medieval monastery in Havixbeck, Germany

Kloster Hohenholte stands at the coordinates 51.9961 latitude and 7.46 longitude in North Rhine-Westphalia, featuring distinct architectural elements from different periods.

Founded in 1142 by Liudbert von Beveren, the monastery began as a Benedictine establishment before transitioning to an Augustinian convent for women in 1188.

The monastery contained a lay theater until 1810, where the German poet Annette von Droste-Hulshoff once performed during her youth.

The monastery complex included separate houses for the abbess and individual canon ladies, with facilities such as a bathhouse, bakery, and brewery.
