Ore Mountain Toy Museum, Seiffen

The Ore Mountain Toy Museum in Seiffen displays thousands of traditional wooden toys across three floors, documenting the region's craft heritage. The exhibition presents handcrafted pieces in various sizes and styles, from small figurines to large installations.

The collection began with a wooden toy exhibition in 1914 at the Albert Salon, featuring a Noah's Ark with 300 miniature animal figures. This collection expanded over decades and became the foundation of the present-day museum.

The collection displays traditional designs of wooden figurines, music boxes, carousels, and dollhouse rooms crafted by local manufacturers. These objects reflect regional craft traditions and daily life across different periods.

The museum opens to visitors daily and has facilities for people with mobility limitations throughout all areas. It is recommended to allow enough time to explore the extensive collection at a relaxed pace.

The museum houses a giant show pyramid 6.3 meters tall that showcases regional woodworking techniques in a rare display. This large-scale piece was assembled using traditional methods and demonstrates the complexity of such constructions.
