Fennpfuhlpark, Public park in Fennpfuhl, Lichtenberg, Germany.
Fennpfuhlpark is a roughly 9.5-hectare green space in Lichtenberg featuring walking paths, playgrounds, and sports facilities arranged around a central pond with a pedestrian bridge. This pond was formed naturally during the Ice Age and serves as the focal point of the layout.
Development of the park began in 1972 as part of East Berlin's urban planning initiatives and incorporated the two natural ponds formed in the Ice Age. It was deliberately designed as a green space project for East Berlin.
Sandstone sculptures placed here during an international art symposium in 1978 are integrated throughout the grounds as part of the landscape. They become natural focal points during walks and create spaces for reflection.
Multiple entrances along Weißenseer Weg, Paul-Junius-Straße, and Landsberger Allee provide access with good connections to public transportation. These entry points allow you to choose your route based on where you start and what you want to explore.
An artificial nesting island installed in the central pond during 2024 provides protected habitat for water birds. Visitors walking along the paths can watch birds using and settling on this new feature.
