The concrete tower reaches a height of 138 meters and stands at an elevation of 417 meters above sea level in the Eggegebirge mountain range.
Deutsche Bundespost constructed this tower between 1989 and 1990 at a cost of 26.5 million Deutsche Mark, replacing a steel lattice tower from 1965.
The tower functions as a central telecommunications hub for the Höxter district, transmitting digital radio programs and mobile communications across North Rhine-Westphalia.
The structure maintains a service level at 45 meters height and operates multiple transmission services, including DAB+ radio broadcasts and mobile network coverage.
In June 2019, the installation of new 5.3-meter VHF dipole antennas enhanced the tower's digital radio broadcasting capabilities throughout the region.
