The Fernmeldeturm Willebadessen is a concrete communications tower located in the Eggegebirge mountain area that relays radio broadcasts and mobile signals across the region. Multiple transmission facilities are mounted at different heights to serve a wide coverage area for digital and cellular services.
The tower was built in the late 1980s by the German postal service as a replacement for an older steel structure that had served the area. It has since grown into a modern telecommunications hub serving multiple broadcast and mobile network operators.
The tower functions as a central telecommunications hub for the Höxter district, transmitting digital radio programs and mobile communications across North Rhine-Westphalia.
The tower sits in hilly terrain, so a visit on clear days offers better views of the surrounding landscape. It is easily visible and accessible from local roads in the area.
In June 2019, the installation of new 5.3-meter VHF dipole antennas enhanced the tower's digital radio broadcasting capabilities throughout the region.
