Seeparkturm Freiburg

Seeparkturm Freiburg is a wooden observation tower located on the northern shore of Flückiger Lake within Seepark. The structure features multiple viewing platforms that allow visitors to look out over the water, parkland, and surrounding countryside.

The tower was built in 1986 as part of a major garden exhibition that marked the park's transformation. Following destruction by arson in 2004, the structure was completely rebuilt and reopened to the public.

The tower functions as a gathering point within the park where visitors naturally gravitate to take in the surrounding views. People of all ages come here to pause and enjoy the landscape that spreads across the water and green spaces.

Access to the viewing platforms is gained by climbing interior stairs that are straightforward to navigate. Visiting on clear days provides the best visibility for taking in the distant views across the landscape.

On clear days, the upper platforms reveal distant views of the Vosges mountains and Kaiserstuhl region to the east and south. The adjacent slopes transform into a sledding hill during winter months, bringing a different energy to the park.
