Friedenskirche, Protestant church in Vorderer Westen district, Kassel, Germany.
Friedenskirche is a Protestant church building with neo-Romanesque architecture in Kassel's Vorderer Westen district. It is crowned by a large copper dome and contains colored glass windows with biblical imagery along with a modern pipe organ inside.
The building was constructed between 1905 and 1908 according to plans by architect Johannes Roth and served a growing congregation. It was part of Kassel's urban expansion in the early twentieth century.
The church takes its name from peace and reflects the religious hopes of its time. Its bell from 1907 continues to call worshippers to services and connects generations of community members through its distinctive sound.
The church building is located in the western part of the city and is easily visible from the street. Visitors can admire the structure from the outside or attend regular services held throughout the year.
The building was used by a congregation formed from the merger of several Lutheran communities. This special origin made it a place where different Protestant groups in the city united.
